Robbi Mckee

Owner/Artist

Robbi got introduced to art through skateboarding and music. As fate would have it, at age 16, around 1991, he met a tatooer named JJ Simon. JJ would help him begin his tatto journey. Around 1994, Robert Hensley offered Robbi his first job opportunity. This is when the doors really started to open. Around 2004, Toby Nolte hired Robbi at Explosive Tattoo where he's been ever since. Tattooing is more than a job for Robbi. It's a part of his life. He continues to push hard everyday to become a better tattooer and better person. 

JJ Simon

Tattoo Artist

JJ Simon started tattooing in 1988. He's a versatile artist, working in styles ranging from traditional to black and grey. He especially enjouts bio mechanincal and neo traditional work. He's lived and worked on the Eastern Shore at several shops for 30 years. His other artistic pursuit is metalworking. He's been blacksmithing and bladesmithing since 2007 and is a Journeyman Bladesmith in the American Bladesmith Society.

Cole Thompson

Tattoo Artist

Cole started doing art a young age with his grandfather, who was his biggest inspiration starting out. Cole loves exploring all different types of mediums and pushing himself out of his comfort zone. He fell in love with tattooing at age 13 when he saw his dad get tattooed for the first time; however, he didn't recieve his first tattoo until age 18. Besides tatooing, Cole loves spending time with his loved ones, going on trips to new areas, and listening to/playing music. He's very gratful for where life has taken him.

Fil, a dedicated tattoo artist and true creative spirit, was born and raised in the vibrant world of skateboarding and graffiti. With an innate passion for artistry and a rebellious nature, Fil found his true calling as a tattooer, where he thrives on crafting bold, whimsical, and trippy designs that push the boundaries of conventional tattoo design.

Mark Weil

Tattoo Artist

Mark has been tattooing since 2016. He enjoys traditional, black and grey, and dot work tattooing. In his down time, he loves spending the day with his wonderful wife and two cats. Outside of the shop, Mark enjoys kayaking, playing the guitar, yo-yos, and antiques.

Born out of the hellfires of New Jersey, Alec accidentally ended up in Maryland where he tumbling into Explosive Tattoo. He loves drawing, painting, making sculptures, and dancing the night away.

Mike Tull

Piercer 

Mike started his piercing apprenticeship in 2017. After two years of training, he offically began his body piercing career in 2019. He specializes in speed, precision, and efficiency while also placing the customer's health and well-being first. Mike has a specialk interest in anatomy based ear curations, as well as body modification projects.
